AACCI in collaboration with Austrade Dubai, for the fourth year was delighted to host the MENA Connection 2018 Seminars, with Tech Visions Creating opportunities for Australia being the central theme of this year’s event. The seminar also provided insights on key regional trends, initiatives, networks and multi sector trade opportunities for Australian firms as well as Expo 2020 Dubai.
The MENA Connections delegation was by led by the recently appointed Consul-General Dubai and General Manager – MEA and Turkey, Mr Ian Halliday and Ms Anna Fedeles Trade & Investment Commissioner UAE. The DFAT Panel discussed the geopolitical viewpoints and included Australian Ambassador to Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Jordan, Consul-General to Turkey as well as Mr Justin McGowan, Commissioner General for the Expo 2020 Dubai who provided an overview of the plan for the Expo.
The President and National Chairman, Mr Roland Jabbour OAM esq JP and AACCI State Chairs from Victoria, NSW, WA, SA and Queensland represented AACCI.
The seminars across five states were highly rated, successful and attracted high attendance by Consul Generals from the Arab region, senior government representatives, small business and corporate companies, stakeholders and AACCI members. Each seminar was followed by a networking function, which provided opportunity for introductions and lively discussions.
