Algeria

Australians need to obtain a visa in advance. For a business visa, an invitation or sponsorship letter from a company in Algeria is required. A recommendation letter of the company of employment is also required.
Please note that travellers with an Israeli passport stamp will be rejected.

Bahrain

Australians may obtain a 2-week visa on arrival for US$50 from Bahrain International Airport or King Fahad Causeway if they have onward or return tickets. This can be extended for an extra two weeks.
Those wishing to stay longer in Bahrain should apply to one of the Bahraini missions in the Gulf or the Bahraini Embassy in Beijing. A letter from a sponsor who must be a Bahraini national, commercial entity or government body, should accompany the application.

Egypt

Australians should obtain the 'Entry Visa', intended for purposes other than tourism. These are valid for six months from date of issue, for a maximum of 60 days (single-entry) or 90 days (multiple-entry). A letter from the company stating reasons for the visit must be submitted with the visa application.

Iraq

In order to obtain an Iraqi visa, Australian citizens can download and fill the application on the Iraqi Consulate's website: http://www.iraqiconsulatesydney.org/pdf/visaform.pdf. The form has to be electronically filled before printing and must be accompanied by two passport photos, when lodged. Upon approval, the original passport has to be sent to the Consulate and the fees paid in cash or cheques (in US Dollars): $40 - for a single-entry visa or $100 for multiple entry visa.

Jordan

Australians may obtain a business visa on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport. Visas are $33 for a one-month single-entry visa, and $63 for a six-month multiple-entry visa.

Kuwait

Australians may obtain a visa on arrival for 30 days. This visa can be extended for another month. Visas are $75 for single-entry.

Lebanon

Australians can obtain a visa for up to three months from the Lebanese Embassy in Canberra. Prices are: $55 for single entry, $78.50 for double entry, $109.50 for multiple entry, and $31.50 for transit single entry. Australians may also enter obtain a free single-entry visa valid for one month on arrival.
Please note that travellers with an Israeli passport stamp will be rejected.

Libya

Travellers must have an Arabic translation of the front page of their passport, and a letter from their employer stating the purpose of their trip and financial responsibility. It is recommended to use agencies or contacts within Libya to support your application. Visas are valid for use for 30 days after date of issue, and the duration of stay on a business visa is 30 days.

Australians can stay in Morocco without a visa for up to three months.

Oman

Australians need to obtain an entry visa from the Consulate-General in Melbourne. Single entry visas are $120 for 30 days. Multiple entry visas are $300 for one year (each entry to Oman is valid for 3 weeks). Both types of visa are valid for 6 months from date of issue.
Australians can also obtain a single entry visa on arrival. However, a multiple entry visa will only be granted after showing the necessary business documents.
Details of sponsorship or a letter of invitation from an Omani national are compulsory.
A business letter of responsibility is required. This should include: the nature of the business performed; the name and address of the business; a company guarantee of sufficient financial support for the business; guarantee of return to Australia; and a signature from a company officer other than the applicant.
A letter of invitation from the company to be visited in Oman should be including expediting the visa process.

Qatar

Australians are able to obtain an entry visa on arrival for 30 days. A business letter of responsibility or other proof of business activity should be presented.

Saudi Arabia

Businessmen attempting to obtain a visa must apply through an approved Saudi Arabian agent.
The following documents should also be provided: an itinerary and copy of plane tickets; a letter of invitation from a Saudi Arabian company or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and a business letter of responsibility from the Australian company.
The business letter of responsibility should include: the nature of the business performed; the name and address of the business; a company guarantee of sufficient financial support for the business; guarantee of return to Australia; and a signature from a company officer other than the applicant.

Syria

Australians must apply for a visa at the Syrian Embassy in Canberra. The cost is $100 for either a single entry visa (valid for three months after date of issue) or a multiple entry visa (valid for six months after date of issue). Both visas are for six months. Please note that stays of more than 30 days require a stamp from the Ministry of Immigration in Damascus.
