Chairman's Update

Mr Roland Jabbour Esq. J.P.

President & National Chairman

For the last six months, AACCI has rigorously tried and successfully achieved a refreshed look and a new momentum in our profile and presence. We have had a great year of success in ascertaining and implementing the key goals for AACCI. We have been able to rebrand and become more accessible, provide to members and the business community high-profile and content driven events and seminars, and create more avenues to advocate for our members in easing the process of export certification to the Arab world.

It has been a privilege to lead AACCI through this transition and, along with the Board invite you to increase involvement with us over the coming months. We are a community of people with a common purpose: to support each other to develop and expand Australia's trade relationship with the Arab world. We understand how business is won and lost in the region and we are happy to share that experience with you.

We continue our close collaboration with our key stakeholders, the Federal and State Governments, and the Arab Embassies and Consulates in Australia to ensure that AACCI remains a reliable conduit to creating further harmony in trade and investment linkages.

I am also really excited that the AACCI Strategic Plan FY 2015-18, has been endorsed by the board and implementation is well underway. The Strategic Plan was driven by an innate recognition of the central importance of members to AACCI, and a desire to empower individual states to deliver high quality member services Australia wide. Our Strategic Plan is built on four major pillars of activities: advocacy, member services, cultural understanding and documentation services. These four corners encompass all areas of services that members continuously have required from AACCI for the past 40 years.

With the inauguration of sector and Arab country specific opportunity seminars, new and informed events, tailored membership fees, greater efficiency and reliability at document certification, and a more active approach to advocacy for Australian businesses, 'Members First' is the AACCI mantra.

I hope you enjoy our newsletter, and continue to follow our journey with us!
