The Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (AACCI) was founded in 1975, under the auspices of the then Federal Department of Trade and Resources. We now operate with the full support of the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade and the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade). The Chamber is recognised as the peak business Association for Companies dealing with Arab League Countries.The Chamber is affiliated with the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries (GUCCIAA), Australian Business in the Gulf (ABIG) and other Trade associations and Chambers in the Arab League countries. The National Secretariat is located in Canberra with Chapters established in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia. Each State Chapter is represented on the National Council enabling substantial input into the formulation of National policies and programs. The National Secretariat maintains a very close liaison with Australian Government Ministers, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Austrade and the Arab Diplomatic Corps. Membership comprises a diverse range of Australian companies and organisations involved in trade, commerce, education, investment and industry with the 22 Arab Countries. The focus of the Chamber is on collection and dissemination of information relating to bilateral trade opportunities and ensuring Government policy decisions are correctly targeted. Membership Is open to any individual, firm or company interested in the objects of the Chamber. Current cost is $400 pa, including GST. Services & Activities AACCI is authorised by the Australian Government to process documents for all of the Arab League countries. These countries are: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria, The Sudan, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen. Certificates of Origin and other documents e.g. Invoices, Health Certificates, Halal Certificates, Shipping Advice and Agency Agreements or Contracts are certified for AACCI Members at discounted rates.
